  • Opportunity at a Glance

    The editorial assistant will assist in the production of print and electronic association publications to ensure that high-quality materials are produced in a timely manner in order to meet the needs of the ACAMS members and constituents. The assistant will also provide administrative support as needed by the editor-in-chief.


    • Assists in copyediting and proofreading publications including, but not limited to, ACAMS Today Magazine, ACAMSToday.org, ACAMS Connection (in English and Spanish).
    • Assists with administrative activities necessary to produce publications including, but not limited to, liaising with article authors, article reviewers, staff contributors and updating the ACAMSToday.org web site.
    • Assists in choosing artwork for publications.
    • Attends quarterly editorial task force meetings and takes minutes during the meetings.
    • Provides other administrative and clerical support as assigned.
    • Organizes magazine-storage room.




    • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism or related area and two (2) to three (3) years of copyediting and proofreading experience.
    • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities and deadlines.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and Spanish grammar, spelling and punctuation (ACAMS publishes internationally in English and in Spanish).
    • Exceptional copyediting and proofreading skills to ensure proper house style, usage, consistency and fact-checking (including ability to review and mark up copy using conventional copyediting and proofreading marks).
    • Ability to apply house style and style guides (e.g., The Associated Press Stylebook), and to consult appropriate reference and information sources such as dictionaries, web sites and other ACAMS publications.
    • Meticulous attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and preferred proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish and have excellent written and verbal communications skills in both languages.
