  • Opportunity at a Glance

    This position gathers information from external and internal subject matter experts and then uses that to build business process training courses. Project types and topics will continually evolve and are usually outside the personal skillset or experience of this position. Commonly this position will help build a team and then project manage the work of others who feed into, or depend on output from, this position.


    Market and content research


    • Identifies and builds relationships with SMEs
    • Assists product manager in identifying market opportunities
    • Assists product manager in building and refining course syllabi

    Courseware development


    • Guides and coordinates SMEs as they provide content
    • Researches as necessary to fill gaps or validate SME content
    • Edits and converts SME content into courseware
    • Builds supporting forms, tools, objects, etc.
    • Guides multimedia producer
    • Guides product implementation team
    • Coordinates product edit reviews, testing, revision 
    • Supports archive of courseware, source files, and documentation

    Sales and marketing support


    • Provides content for sales education and promotion






    • Keen attention to detail
    • Focused on Return On Investment (Can do a lot with a little. Knows where to invest.)
    • Self-motivated, self-managing with remote supervisor
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (especially with SMEs who are often senior managers at customer organizations)
    • Research, cold calling, and negotiation skills
    • Ability to understand the gist of a topic being discussed for the first time, enough to develop a plan for coordinating content from SMEs into a training course
    • Ability to forecast costs of manufacturing and delivering the products being developed
    • General technical skills and aptitude, being a quick self-learner of all the technology ACAMS uses now (including MS Office, Webex, SmartSheet, ACAMS Learning Management System, Salesforce, ACAMS.org, etc.) and in the future. Instructions and templates will be provided.
    • Strong instructional design and adult learning philosophies
    • Concise, clear writing style
    • Ability to design for multinational audiences
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines
    • Ability to travel globally (10%)
    • Fluency in any of these languages a plus (Arabic, Bahasa Indonesia, Chinese – simplified, Chinese – traditional, English, French, German, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish)


    Education and Experience:

    • 5 years of developing adult learning, business process training in multiple delivery formats
    • 5 years of identifying, securing, and managing external and internal resources
    • Variable-compensated consulting or self-employment a plus
    • Portfolio available for review by ACAMS
    • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree or related certification is a plus)
    • AML experience not required but a huge plus
