    The Senior Product Manager, Certification is responsible for providing proactive leadership, operational oversight, and strategic planning for the CAMS certification and other certification programs at ACAMS.  This position develops, executes and communicates strategic and operational program initiatives to enhance quality and maximize revenue for the signature product of a growing association.


    • In partnership with the Director of Certification, establishes product strategy, including the development and execution of initiatives to create new or improve the quality of existing certification programs, which include both certification assessments and the associated training materials and programs.
    • Engages appropriate cross-functional leadership to develop and implement strategies that support overall product strategy to ensure the successful implementation of certification programs.
    • Leads and collaborates effectively across functions (Marketing, Field Operations, Product Development, Sales, Events, etc.) on new and continuing business needs, as well as on the establishment and implementation of policies related to certification and recertification.
    • Manages the work of external business partners on issues impacting the development and delivery of the certification programs.
    • Supervises – in close partnership with product development, subject matter experts, implementation staff, and psychometrician(s) - the generation, evaluation, field testing, translation, and release of new exam questions.
    • Supervises staff responsible for scheduling and implementing certification exam preparation and other training events.
    • Supervises, in partnership with product development and operations, the translation of products into multiple languages.
    • Supervises staff responsible for the accreditation of continuing education offerings by outside entities.
    • Develops and leverages relationships with industry leaders and governing bodies to increase visibility and success of certifications.
    • Partners closely with Operations and Customer Service to ensure that candidate needs and issues are effectively anticipated and addressed, and appropriate actions are taken to solve issues.
    • Generates and facilitates the sharing and systematizing of best practices globally, including eligibility consideration, faculty selection, exam preparation offerings, vendor partnership and test-taker issues.
    • Leads and drives accountability and workflows to ensure projects are completed on schedule, on budget and on target.  Anticipates product issues and adjusts proactively.
    • Provides leadership in the area of innovation and new product development.  Builds strong, open, collaborative relationships with the product development and marketing teams.
    • Develops and manages plan to gather actionable market intelligence (e.g., consumers, competitors, firms, universities and societies) to improve product and product positioning. 
    • Engages and manages resources that extend certifications and the related training to university and corporate partners.
    • Leads other projects and completed other duties as assigned.


    • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred
    • 10+ years of professional experience, with supervisory experience
    • 5+ years of program or product management experience; experience with certification management highly desirable.
    • Track record of leading successful teams that generate consistent revenue growth, implementing  rograms and developing competitive response campaigns.
    • Requires critical thinking and problem solving skills, strong teamwork, negotiation and delegation capabilities.
    • Clear indication of progressive responsibilities including a track record of managing complex issues, preferably in a dynamic, high pressure culture demanding high quality thinking and output.
    • Superior team skills with proven ability to collaborate successfully with all organizational functions and levels with emphasis on building strong, productive relationships.
    • Must possess excellent problem solving and strategic thinking abilities.
    • Ability to influence and partner with internal and external customers.
    • Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
