**This role will start as a remote, and but continue as a hybrid or 100% in the office in Miami,FL based on the needs of the business.**



Responsible for all tax matters for ACAMS and establishing a best-in-class tax function. This is a career defining opportunity to establish an international tax function in a fast past environment.


  • Assures that the corporation is in compliance with all federal, state, city, and international tax laws.
  • Assumes overall responsibility for department planning and execution.
  • Oversees, interprets, and analyzes federal, state and international legislative tax law changes.
  • Maintains knowledge of changing regulations, identifies areas requiring change and modification and sets up required programs to upgrade and change existing conditions.
  • Partner with the executive team to design and implement tax efficient strategies including repatriation strategies.
  • Participates actively with other members of management and outside consultants in acquisitions, liquidations, stock offerings and debt restructurings.
  • Responds to executive management tax matter inquiries.
  • Interfaces with outside independent auditors from a tax perspective.
  • Manages external advisors to ensure that all tax returns, elections, disclosures, and reporting methods are accurately prepared, timely filed, and well-documented.
  • Negotiates tax positions and liabilities, when necessary, with tax appellate conferences and foreign tax inspectors.
  • Ensures quality control of tax returns, memorandums, agreements, and position papers.
  • Ensures that necessary tax history and documentation is properly organized on firm secured drives.
  • Works with federal, state, and local authorities to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare all tax provision disclosures for financial reporting purposes and ensure compliance with relevant US GAAP and IFRS reporting requirements.
  • Position may be required to travel to and assist other domestic and international sites.





  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary. M.B.A., LLM-Taxation, CPA designation or law degree are highly desirable.

Related experience: 

  • Minimum 7 - 10 years tax experience with international tax experience.    

Reporting Relationship: 

  • Reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Job Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • High Integrity - you seek open and honest communication, and you hold yourself to very high moral and ethical standards.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 740, transfer pricing, foreign direct tax matters and international transactions.
  • Excellent command of tax financial reporting requirements for both US GAAP and International financial reporting standards.
  • Ability to communicate technical tax issues, operate in a “hands on” environment and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional departments.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills with a commercial mindset.
  • Proven ability to autonomously research, interpret and document tax requirements and implications for the company.
  • Knowledge of implementing transfer pricing frameworks and methodologies.
  • Strong written and oral communicator, comfortable presenting to executives, audit and risk committee or Board of Directors.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
